This is Dawes, one of my favorite new bands of this year, playing the Joe Cocker version of The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends"-- the Wonder Years theme song-- at a show in LA. I am a total cheeseball so this song pretty much always makes me want to cry (Kevinnn Arnolldddd I love you but why are you so mean to Winne Cooper and why do you have to grow up and why aren't you on DVD?!) but this performance of it is just so great, goofy but just earnest enough, and so joyful. If I was in a band I'd make us learn this song and play it every day.

You know I have had that same thought about why Wonder Years isn't on DVD a lot. In fact, I often search for it on Netflix hoping that it's secretly been released.

Also, I like that band!

Don't they have the same problem as that cartoon series Daria, from MTV? I am pretty sure they both are unavailable for release on DVD because the (awesome) music they used as the soundtrack to the original series would cost too much to reproduce.

Cindy, you know, I think that might be what the problem is (it's always what I've assumed it is, at least) but I'm not sure. I've never thought about Daria not being out on DVD either, which may be more of a shame because I've never actually seen much Daria. Travesty?!
